The Senior Concert Orchestra of New York is an ensemble comprised of senior musicians, many who are veterans of major symphony and opera orchestras nationwide. The orchestra is a project of the Senior Musicians Association of New York, which has nearly 3,000 active, honorary, and emeritus members. The orchestra holds the annual Waldo Mayo Violin Competition, selecting a young violinist to appear as soloist in concert. The orchestra gratefully receives support from the Music Performance Trust Fund and The Lucille Lortel Foundation.
